Saint Remy en Rollat
SAINT RÉMY EN ROLLAT Allier, France.
A small pottery center near Vichy. Some workshops and a pottery dump have been excavated. The center is noted for its lead-glaze bowls found on the site: Aco-form goblets, unguentaria, skyphoi, and Drag. 29 cups, molded in white clay. It also produced white clay statuettes (Venus), oscilla (mold signed SEXTUS), modeled bowls, and andirons shaped like rams' heads, as well as ordinary ware. It flourished from the end of the 1st c. B.C. to the middle of the 1st c. A.D., and was probably most active in Tiberius' reign.
